Chris Carlson

Chris Carlson

Founder & CEO

Chris loves to fly fish and has traveled around the globe in pursuit of his passion. Two of his most memorable adventures include his dream trip to Patagonia, Chile where he backpacked and fly fished for a month, and a similar month-long excursion to Alaska that was funded by his first big poker win in 2004.

Always on the lookout for the next best idea, Chris’ entrepreneurial spirit and strong business sense has been evident from early on in his life. One of his most profitable endeavors in his younger years was when he worked on a lobster boat. Instead of cash, Chris asked his captain if he could get his pay in live lobsters. His captain agreed, and Chris doubled his daily earnings by selling the lobsters at the side of the road for one hour a day. In college, two of Chris’ friends started a laundry service and wanted him to become a client. Chris proposed that they do his laundry for a month, and in turn, he would help to promote their business. Ultimately, the arrangement benefited all three of them; Chris’ guerilla marketing tactics helped to generate revenue for the girls, and he enjoyed free laundry service.

Upon graduating from Lehigh University, Chris worked as a broker for Ladenburg Thalmann. After witnessing the devastating effects that the Internet bubble had on his industry, he moved to Reuters to pursue equity research. While working there as an analyst, Chris decided to see if he could turn his love for online poker into a business venture. After locking himself in a New York hotel room for six weeks, he emerged triumphant debuting raketracker.com, a first-of-its-kind website in the poker performance marketing space that served as an aggregator of statistics from dozens of online poker platforms.

As his venture increased, so did his vision. Following the success of raketracker, Chris opened the doors of FourCubed in 2004 and proceeded to build two other first-of-its-kind websites: yourpokercash.com (YPC) for casual poker players, and pokeraffiliatesolutions.com (PAS), which enabled other performance marketers to utilize the services found in raketracker to support their online marketing businesses. As he focused on becoming an industry leader in the online gaming performance marketing space, Chris’ FourCubed team continued to grow. In 2010, the thriving Minneapolis-based digital marketing company acquired page10, one of the top 25 web development and design firms in the Twin Cities, to leverage its project management and web expertise.

As founder and CEO of FourCubed, Chris is responsible for guiding the vision of the company, providing strategic leadership to both clients and staff, and defining the company’s business practices and policies. He continuously seeks out acquisition targets, as well as new markets, that could benefit from FourCubed’s services and expertise. Chris empowers his staff to utilize their diverse strengths, and remains dedicated to ensuring that his clients benefit from the talent and proficiency of his team.

Jill Fox

Jill Fox

Accounting Director

When not engrossed in numbers, Jill can be found immersed in nature. An avid camper since she was a young girl, Jill makes an annual trek to the Boundary Waters where she can portage her own canoe. She also has bush-whacked up the side of McDowell Mountain in Arizona to camp at the top and gone horseback riding through volcanic fields in Iceland.

While it is not unusual to switch career paths at least once in life, it is unusual to come across an accountant whose initial career aspirations centered on being an anthropologist. But that is exactly what Jill did. After receiving her undergraduate degree in anthropology with a minor in environmental science at Eckerd College in Florida, she enrolled in the University of Minnesota’s geographic information sciences (GIS) graduate program, focusing specifically on natural resource and watershed management. One year into the program, Jill’s entrepreneurial spirit won out, and she decided to switch tracks and pursue her interest in business. Two years later, Jill graduated from Metropolitan State University with a degree in accounting and started her new career.

Jill spent her first three years in her new field working for All in One Accounting, an accounting consultancy group that provided onsite bookkeeping, controller and chief financial officer services for small and start-up businesses ranging from web development and information technology firms to advertising agencies and retailers. During her time there, she worked with business owners and accounting personnel to develop and implement accounting procedures and best practices, set up accounting systems, and compile month-end and financial analyses. In 2007, FourCubed came to All in One Accounting seeking a part-time controller. After filling the role for a year, FourCubed brought Jill on full-time as their accounting director.

As accounting director, Jill manages the accounting, finance and cash management operations of FourCubed. Her responsibilities include financial reporting and budgeting, managing international and domestic banking relationships, and overseeing global cash positioning and movement, as well as FourCubed’s accounting operations and personnel. Jill enjoys working in the small business environment, and values being part of a company that does not lose focus on its customers or employees as it continues to grow.

Herb Jenkins

Herb Jenkins

Chief Marketing Officer

Herb discovered his passion for cooking while working as a cook in a five-star restaurant during college. Although he cooks just for fun now, he attributes his strong work ethic to his time spent in the fast-paced kitchen.

Herb’s interest in poker was cultivated at an early age by his grandfather. Together, they spent countless hours enjoying the game and each other’s company. He continued playing recreationally throughout his life with everyone from family to friends to his fraternity brothers at Samford University where he graduated with a biology degree. About a year later, using his knowledge of the gaming industry along with the relationships he had formed with other players, Herb decided to concentrate on developing an online gaming affiliate marketing business. As a result of his strong work ethic and data-driven approach to marketing, his business proved to be a success and is still in operation today.

During this time, Herb met FourCubed’s CEO, Chris Carlson, and developed a friendship that turned into a business partnership over the course of two years. Chris had built and launched raketracker.com, and was in the process of building yourpokercash.com (YPC) when Herb joined the FourCubed team as chief operating officer in 2006. After two years of running YPC from his hometown of Nashville, he joined Chris in Minneapolis to oversee the launch of a third website, pokeraffiliatesolutions.com (PAS). As FourCubed grew, Herb continued to embrace his passion for marketing, transitioning to the role of chief marketing officer in 2010.

In his current role, Herb is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and plans, as well as for managing a team of brand managers. In addition, he is heavily involved in business development and sales, applying his process knowledge to drive success in new and existing verticals within the digital marketing space. Herb enjoys working in a culture where everyone is not only committed to succeeding and delivering exceptional results, but also is truly passionate about what they do.

Deb Notermann

Deb Notermann

Senior Vice President

Deb is a mom to two teenagers who are actively involved in hockey, diving, gymnastics and lacrosse. On the weekends, you will likely find her in a rink, gym, field or burning off some steam on her jet ski.

When asked to describe highlights from her career, Deb’s focus will be on projects that produced innovative results through the collaboration of a dynamic team such as the robotic cartridge library team she was a part of at UNISYS. Besides having the opportunity to work with some of the smartest engineering minds in the business, this particular project launched her progression within the company from systems engineer to project manager of large-scale marketing benchmarks for clients such as NASDAQ, Northwest Airlines and the California Department of Justice.

After eight years at UNISYS, Deb moved into the consulting business where she led a team of developers for US Bank’s teller system, which provided measurable teller productivity improvement. Then, for PowerCerv, Deb established and managed the quality assurance department, and became an early adopter of software test automation. Later, she was responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of award-winning PowerBuilder-based software development tools.

In 1998, Rob Page suggested that she partner with him to build out the consulting firm he had started the year prior. With Deb on board, Page, Inc. quickly grew into a $3 million firm, providing clients with application development and IT strategy services. Five years later, recognizing that Page services fell into two categories – software development and process improvement projects, and web design and interactive marketing projects – they created the pageSPI and page10 brands. Deb’s primary role was organizational and business strategy development; however, as a partner, she also stepped in to assist with recruiting, day-to-day management and project execution when needed. The page10 brand eventually became established as one of the top 25 web design and development firms in the Twin Cities, servicing clients such as Lawson, Thrivent and Creative Memories. In 2011, Deb and Rob took advantage of an opportunity to increase the brand and services strength of page10, and made the decision to sell page10 to FourCubed.

Throughout her career, Deb has remained most passionate about organizational development and learning about various business models, but has also always enjoyed working hand-in-hand with clients to improve their business and online marketing strategies. As senior vice president at FourCubed, Deb is responsible for ensuring seamless delivery and execution of projects, as well as exceptional customer service. Recognizing that the experience of working with FourCubed is just as important as the end result, Deb remains committed to delivering on the FourCubed customer service promise.
